HOW TO PLAY

Pick a song.
Guess them all.

Each of the 3–16 players submits one song. Finish voting on every song before revealing any answers.

  1. Create a room and invite your friends

Choose a nickname and character on the home screen, then create a room. Use Copy room link to invite the other players. Check that everyone has joined the same room. The host also picks a song and takes part in guessing.

  2. The host chooses a theme

Choose a random theme, pick one of three suggestions, or write your own. Something like “A song for the commute” gives everyone room to interpret it differently. The theme locks when the first song is submitted. Agree on what it means before submitting.

  3. Submit a link and check the preview

Everyone enters one YouTube link that fits the theme. A successful in-game preview is required before the song is ready. A start time in the link is respected: for example, https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID?t=90 starts at 1 minute 30 seconds. Replace the explanatory VIDEO_ID with a real video's ID.

If the video is unavailable, private, or blocked from embedding, choose another video. Your first visit starts muted, with volume at 20%. Unmute and adjust your own volume when you want to listen. Once everyone is ready, the host starts the game.

  4. Listen and vote on every song

The host presses play for each song. Its submitter does not vote; everyone else guesses who chose it. You can also mark the song as off-theme. A submitted vote cannot be changed.

When all eligible players have voted, the host moves to the next track. Three players means three songs; sixteen players means sixteen songs. Answers and score changes remain hidden throughout this guessing stage.

  5. Reveal from the first song onward

After the final vote, the host starts the reveal. See the submitter and score changes for each song in the same order. The host can listen again, pause, or restart playback. After the last reveal, see the final results. Play again resets scores, the theme, songs, and votes for a fresh game.

Two ways scores change

  • Correct submitter: +100 points. An incorrect guess does not itself lose points.
  • Off-theme verdict: the submitter loses 100 points. More than half of all other players must vote off-theme. This is separate from correct-guess points. Scores can go below zero.

Exactly half is not enough for a penalty. Players decide whether a song fits; there is no automated analysis of the music.

A three-player scoring example

This is a fictional example to explain the rules. Mina, Jun, and Ari each choose a song for “Setting off on a trip.” After voting on all three songs, the reveal shows these results.

Reveal orderCorrect guessesOff-theme votesScore changes
1 · Mina's songJun, Ari0 / 2Jun +100
Ari +100
2 · Jun's songMina, Ari2 / 2Mina +100
Ari +100
Jun −100
3 · Ari's songJun1 / 2Jun +100
No penalty for Ari

Final scores: Ari 200, Mina 100, Jun 100. Mina and Ari still earn +100 for identifying Jun's song even though it was voted off-theme. Ari's song has only one off-theme vote out of two, so there is no penalty.

If you get stuck

If there is no sound, check your mute, volume, and browser playback permission. If the game stops advancing, check that everyone has voted and the host is connected. The host can use Return as host from the same site address and browser profile. Read the FAQ for recovery limits and video troubleshooting.
